You must make up your mind because if these videos shows the truth because then the foundation of all traditional hoof care is wrong.

Final Proof 1.

Traditional hoof care is based on the assumption that the coffin bone is hanging in the laminar from the hoof wall. This assumption is the foundation for the reasoning that the hoof is supposed to be peripherally loaded which means that the peripheral part of the hoof (i.e. the hoof wall) is supposed to carry the horse’s weight. The frog is equivalent to the pad on all other animals and we know for sure that the dog, cat, goat, camel and elephant al are walking on their pads. The reason many horses suffer from sore frogs are because they are under developed and/or infected.

If you can not prove this video wrong then you must reframe from having your horse shoed with traditional horse shoes or in any other way let his weight be carried by the hoof walls.

If you agree with this video then you must do what ever it takes to get your horse sound enough to walk on his frogs.

Hoof Proof 2.

It is easy to find animations on Internet showing hoof mechanism.

The problem is that they do not show hoof mechanism in a perfectly sound and natural hoof but instead only in thrush infected, shoed and too high hooves with impaired frog pressure. This is not that strange since perfect hooves are extremely rare and most people have never even seen one. Sadly enough that goes for most seasoned veterinarians and veteran farriers too.

The poor hoof mechanism you can see in those animation has very little resemblance with the effectiveness and capacity of perfect natural hoof mechanism.

You might have understood that my opinion is that almost every single horse is suffering from thrush even though often not diagnosed or recognised. Thrush and everything else that impairs the protective capability of the frog or directly reduce the frog pressure will destroy the hoof mechanism completely.

If you add all thrush infected horses, all shoed horses and all bare foot horses with high heels together you will understand how many horses that are suffering from diminished hoof mechanism and how many, if any, that enjoys perfect hoof mechanism.
